North Carolina Wesleyan University is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as Admissions Graduate Assistant.
ELIGIBILITY:
This is a graduate assistant position that is open only to students who have completed their baccalaureate degree and are enrolled full-time in a masters level degree program at North Carolina Wesleyan. Interested applicants must apply to an NCWU graduate program and be pre-registered for full-time enrollment before they will be formally considered for this position. POSITIONS SUMMARY:
The Graduate Assistant serves as administrative support to the Admissions Processing Coordinator. This position assists with the processing of all documents related to student applications/acceptance as assigned by the Admissions Processing Coordinator.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the processing of all student applications
- Prepare, maintain, and scan/store (digitally or physically) admissions records and provide for the security, confidentiality, and proper destruction of these records
- Obtain student transcripts required for applicant acceptance and enter data into Salesforce
- Assist with the printing and distribution of accepted and deposited letters for each student
- Communicate with candidates by telephone or email to notify students of missing documents
- Assist with the front desk duties as requested
- Adhere to strict confidentiality policies relating to admissions records
- Demonstrate integrity and uphold the values and the mission of the University.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree

Job Description Summary:
The Office of Advancement at North Carolina Wesleyan University is searching for a Graduate Assistant (GA). The Office of Advancement is responsible for oversight and management of university fundraising initiatives, gift and pledge processing, donor database, relations and stewardship, alumni database, relations and engagement, community outreach, prospect research, and other operations relating to university advancement, including the NCWU Foundation.
An Office of Advancement Graduate Assistant will perform fundraising research, reporting, analysis, communications, and stewardship among other office functions. This GA position will report to the VP of Advancement and will be required to support projects (on and off campus) such as various Fall and Spring fundraising events, athletic events, scholarships luncheons, donor banquets, alumni gatherings, and other events, on an as-needed basis.
They will be expected to provide a strong dedication to job performance, excellent customer service, respectful and collegial collaboration, respectful and constructive feedback, and proactive support in reaching the Advancement Office’s goals.
Job Duties:
- Conduct research to verify data maintained in the alumni/donor database and assist with data entry updates
- Analyze data for targeted marketing as needed
- Assist with the planning and implementation of fundraising events, campaigns and other activities
- Conduct prospect research (individuals, corporations, and foundations) as needed
- Assist with Donor stewardship initiatives
- Assist with Alumni engagement and participation initiatives
- Engage in website and social media maintenance, editing, and updates pertaining to Advancement initiatives and/or alumni-centric matters
- Perform any additional tasks as required

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Creates, reviews, and updates all electronic forms.
- Assists students, parents, faculty, alumni, and staff with matters dealing with the Registrar’s Office.

BASIC FUNCTION
Assist in the administration, preparation, training, teaching, and coaching of a sports team. Teach proper skill and skill development to student-athletes. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Enrollment must be continuous during your tenure in this position, and you must maintain good academic standing in your academic program. If you fail to maintain enrollment, employment in this position would be terminated.
