North Carolina Wesleyan University is pleased to offer a revised Make-Up Testing Procedure designed to provide a consistent, secure, and efficient experience for both students and faculty. This process supports academic success while maintaining high standards of integrity.

Please note: This procedure is only for students who must miss a test or assignment due to an approved absence. It does not replace accommodations testing. For accommodations testing, please email Erma Hedgepeth at ehedgepeth@ncwu.edu for additional information.

Accommodations Testing

Students seeking academic accommodations for a disability must first begin the process by meeting with the Counseling and Accessibility Office to review documentation and determine eligibility. Once a student has been approved for testing accommodations, they must complete a Testing Accommodations Request Form with their professor before each exam. The form can be picked up in the COMPASS Center or printed from the email sent by Accessibility Services. All sections of the form must be completed and submitted at least three days before the test date. Exams must be scheduled during COMPASS Center business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.), and professors should submit exams at least two days in advance. While the center will try to schedule testing as close to the class time as possible, availability may vary. If a student misses their scheduled testing appointment, they must receive approval from their professor to reschedule the exam.
