NCWU makes Your Journey from College to Career EASY with Exploration and Preparation Resources
The COMPASS Center helps students design a path that connects their education with meaningful work and life goals. Our approach focuses on career exploration as an ongoing process, where students learn about themselves, test ideas, and make informed decisions about majors, careers, and future opportunities. Instead of expecting students to have everything figured out right away, we help them build the skills and confidence to navigate choices and adapt as their goals evolve.
What makes our approach different is that we focus on purpose, practical experience, and personal guidance. Career development is not only about getting a job after graduation. It is about understanding your strengths, interests, and values, and using that knowledge to explore possible career paths. Students are encouraged to try new experiences, reflect on what they learn, and continue shaping their plans as they grow.
Our committed staff works alongside students throughout their college journey. We support students as they explore majors and career options, connect with professionals, build strong resumes, develop interview skills, and gain real-world experience through internships and early career opportunities. Through these experiences, students learn how to turn their education into practical skills and purposeful careers.
