Student North Carolina Association of Educators (SNCAE)

The Student North Carolina Association of Educators is a pre-professional organization for undergraduate and graduate students interested in a career in education. SNCAE is a division of the larger North Carolina Association of Educators, the leading professional organization for educators in North Carolina, representing over 65,000 members of the National Education Association, the largest education association in the United States. SNCAE’s goal is to prepare college students for their futures as educators. Through NCAE, workshops are offered free of charge in areas such as No Child Left Behind, Diversity in the Classroom and Classroom Management for the New Teacher. Local chapters provide support with job interviewing skills, resume writing, student teaching and advice for the first year of teaching.

A spring convention is held each year at which SNCAE members can attend professional workshops, vote on an executive board for the upcoming year and network with other future educators. If you are a future educator in the state of North Carolina, join your professional organization, SNCAE and make a difference with today’s youth!

All NCWU Teacher Education Students are required to be members of the SNCAE for the duration of their time in the program. In addition, students are encouraged to attend the annual spring conference.

TaskStream

At NCWU, we understand that effective assessment has the power to improve student learning. Through the use of TaskStream, our students have a clear picture of what they should know and be able to do.

NCWU Teacher Education Program uses TaskStream to collect and analyze evidence of learning in an online framework.  Students demonstrate their learning by posting work samples to TaskStream and receiving timely and meaningful feedback from program professors, instructors, or Teacher Education Council Members.

The data generated on TaskStream makes it simple to report and analyze student performance.  Data is used to set strategic goals, address accreditation requirements, review program effectiveness, and demonstrate continuous improvement.

All NCWU Teacher Education students must have an active TaskStream account for the duration of their time in the program.
