Curriculum and Courses

The online RN to BSN program at NC Wesleyan University is designed to help registered nurses achieve the education necessary to broaden their skill set and advance their careers in nursing. This curriculum integrates new and innovative knowledge into daily nursing practices and includes 34 credit hours.

Through RN to BSN courses such as PBH 304 Epidemiology for Healthcare Providers and NUR 305 Community Health Nursing, you study patterns of health and disease, population health, and the role of nurses in community-based care. HCA 300 Legal and Ethical Issues in Healthcare helps you examine real-world scenarios involving patient rights, confidentiality, and professional responsibilities so you can navigate complex situations with confidence.

The RN to BSN curriculum also emphasizes leadership, quality, and systems-level thinking. In NUR 330 Promoting Quality, Safety and Cultural Awareness in Healthcare and NUR 335 Health Care Policy and Information Management, you explore how policies, data, and cultural competence shape outcomes for individuals, families, and communities. NUR 350 Nursing Leadership, Management, and Finance introduces concepts related to staffing, budgeting, and team coordination to help you grow as a leader in your workplace. Courses such as NUR 302 Healthcare Informatics and NUR 400 Professional Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice strengthen your ability to use technology, interpret research, and apply evidence to improve care.

As part of this online RN to BSN program, you complete a capstone sequence in NUR 410 and NUR 411 that brings together knowledge from across the degree. In these courses, you design and implement a project that addresses a need in your practice or community setting and demonstrate your readiness to advance in professional nursing practice.
