Ronald Cotton Event Sponsorship

Help Us Welcome Ronald Cotton

Thank you for considering sponsoring this unique event on the campus of NC Wesleyan.

DATE: February 15, 2024

TIME: 6:30-8:00 p.m.

LOCATION: NCWU Dunn Center, Powers Recital Hall
A reception will be held in the lobby.

Join us as Ronald Cotton shares his story of Injustice and Redemption. The incredible story of Jennifer Thompson, a former Elon University student who was raped at knife-point, and Ronald Cotton, the man she identified as her attacker in the police lineup. The conviction of Mr. Cotton, who served eleven years in prison for a crime he did not commit, was largely based on faulty eyewitness identification procedures. Following his exoneration, Ms. Thompson and Mr. Cotton became friends and advocates for criminal justice reform.

Benefits of Sponsorship:

  • Promotion/mention on the printed program, NCWU website, and NCWU social media
