The Dunn Center is proud to host the Wesleyan Players Performances.

There’s the student athlete and then there’s the much less recognized student actor who, through NC Wesleyan Theatre, has produced traditions of the past like The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Shakespeare Roast. And who continue this season with other splendid traditions such as Ten-Minute Play Festival and Burns Night: A Dinner Theatre.

A trilogy of short plays celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Well, sort of, if not a bit out of the ordinary. Low-Fat-No-Frat Halloween, The First Thanksgiving and Holiday In-Jury. Call them Tongue-In-Cheek Entertainments.

The Burns Supper is an institution of Scottish life celebrating the life and works of Robert Burns, the national Bard. Full of pomp and circumstance, the observance includes all the traditional trappings of the formal dinner, replete with music, toasts and testimonials, a series of entertainments and the inevitable haggis. And this year -on Monday night!

Set in a rural Irish pub on a dark, chilly night. Four men swap ghostly tales, trying to impress a pretty woman from Dublin who has had her own brush with the supernatural. What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than listening to strange stories and chilling memories? One of Ireland’s most popular playwrights, McPherson gives us a rich blend of characters, storytelling, laughter and tears.

Premieres of the top five plays submitted by NC Wesleyan students for the thirteenth annual Wesleyan Players Ten-Minute Play Competition, which is conducted during the preceding fall semester. First through fifth place awards will be presented at the April 14 performance.
