We make Wesleyan PERSONAL in so many ways. Often, this is accomplished through connections with our admissions team in the early part of the recruitment process. Open houses, new student convocation, one-to-one mentoring with faculty and staff, social events, enrichment programs, student clubs, sports teams, and other activities reinforce personal connections. These connections develop more profoundly into the family and community atmosphere that many of our students positively acknowledge. This atmosphere is the number one reason students choose Wesleyan and stay at Wesleyan. Savannah graduated from NC Wesleyan in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration: Healthcare Organization. She is currently enrolled in the MBA: Executive Leadership program at NCWU with an anticipated graduation in December 2024. While at NCWU, Savannah was a student-worker in the Hartness Center, an RA, and inducted into the National Leadership Society, as well as enrolled as a member of the Coharie Tribe.

Why did you choose to work at NCWU?
NCWU has always been my home away from home. It has helped me grow into the professional I am today. My time here at NCWU as a student was one of the best experiences. Having the opportunity to share with others how Wesleyan has helped me grow and encouraging students on why Wesleyan is a great choice for them. Well, it’s like my way of giving back to the community.

Hi! My name is Chandler Brice, and I’m beyond excited to be joining NC Wesleyan University as an Admissions Counselor. I graduated from Wesleyan in May 2022 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration. My journey here started as a transfer student from UNC Chapel Hill in 2020, and I quickly found a home at Wesleyan. During my time here, I was a member of the Women’s Tennis Team and had the incredible opportunity to win back-to-back USA South Championships.
For the past two years, I’ve been living in Austin, Texas, but my heart was always pulling me back home. I knew it was time to return and give back to the community that has given so much to me since 1997—the year I was born. Helping students navigate their college journey is something I’m truly passionate about, and I can’t wait to connect with future Bishops!
Outside of work, I love anything and everything competitive, especially when it comes to sports and crosswords. But my favorite title of all is “sister” to my amazing siblings, Brody, Tanner, and Tyler. My favorite book to this day is Where the Wild Things Are, and if there’s one lesson I live by, it’s that you always, always have to trust the process.
I’m so excited to be back at Wesleyan and can’t wait to be a part of this incredible community again!

Why did you choose to work at NCWU?
After 4 years of being a student-athlete on the NCWU Women’s Soccer team, I decided that I could not say goodbye just yet. I love getting to meet with students and families from all over the United States and helping give them the experience that NC Wesleyan gave me. I will never take for granted the friendships I made here, the experience I had as a student and an athlete, and the connections I formed with my professors.

What’s your favorite eastern NC activity?
There are so many awesome things to do in eastern NC but some of my favorite activities are attending Carolina Hurricanes’ hockey games, going to local coffee shops and thrift stores, and traveling to the Outer Banks on the North Carolina coast.
What’s your Tip(s) for incoming students?
Your college experience is everything that you make it! Make those connections and get involved as much as you can. You never know what friendships you’ll make and what lifelong memories you’ll create.
What’s your Tip(s) for applicants?
Even though NCWU has rolling admissions, we encourage you to submit your application once it becomes available and also never be afraid to ask for help or clarification at any point. We are here to help you throughout the entire process and make sure your transition from high school to college is as smooth as possible!
Another interesting fact about me.
As a member of the NCWU Women’s Soccer team, I was able to travel to Italy during my senior year. While we were there, we were able to tour multiple parts of Italy and play in three different international matches.
Anything else that you think a prospective student would like to know about coming to NCWU?
