Wesleyan Singers

The Wesleyan Singers are one of Wesleyan’s oldest performing ensembles that learn and perform a wide variety of music including classical, spirituals, show tunes and popular selections. Our university chorus seeks more student voices for the Fall 2024 semester!

Founded in 1960 by Dr. William G. Sasser, Wesleyan’s first professor of music, this group is composed of Wesleyan students, faculty, staff and members of the local community. Auditions are required.

The choir has grown significantly since the establishment of the Wesleyan Singers Scholarship in 2007, which provides scholarships for students in the choir and operating expense funds for the choral program. Take the next step toward broadening your performance skills. Beginning in the  Spring of 2024, all new students who commit to NCWU and join the Wesleyan Singers will receive a $2,000 scholarship per year enrolled.

*Applies to new students entering in Spring 2024 and beyond. Does not apply to existing students. Must remain in the Wesleyan Singers each year to continue to receive scholarship.

You can join the Singers for fun or general education credit:
3 semesters of Wesleyan Singers (MUS 171) satisfies the Art, Music, Entertainment, and Theater general education requirement. If you take chorus for credit, it counts as one semester hour per semester.
