Wesleyan Singers

SHARE. BUILD. PERFORM.

The Wesleyan Singers is one of the University’s oldest performing ensembles. Founded in 1960 by Dr. William G. Sasser, Wesleyan’s first professor of music, this group is composed of Wesleyan students, faculty, staff and members of the local community. Auditions are required, as a member you will learn and perform a wide variety of music genres, including:

  • Classical
  • Show Tunes
  • Spirituals
  • Popular Sections

The choir has grown significantly since the establishment of the Wesleyan Singers Scholarship in 2007, which provides scholarships for students in the choir and operating expense funds for the choral program. Take the next step toward broadening your performance skills. Beginning in the  Spring of 2024, all new students who commit to NC Wesleyan University and join the Wesleyan Singers will receive a $2,000 scholarship* (per year enrolled).

*Applies to new students entering in Spring 2024 and beyond. Does not apply to existing students. Must remain in the Wesleyan Singers each year to continue to receive scholarship.
