Peer Navigators are mentors and orientation leaders who support new students through their first year at North Carolina Wesleyan University. Grounded in Life Design principles, they help students build confidence, connect to campus resources, and engage fully in campus life. This role combines the responsibilities of Orientation Leader and Peer Mentor.
Important Dates for 2026:
• Application deadline: March 20, 2026
• Interviews: March 23–27
• Training: April TBD (before school ends)
Responsibilities include:

Mentoring 25–35 first-year students with weekly check-ins and workshops

Leading campus tours, orientation activities, and community events
-
Helping students develop skills like time management, study strategies, and self-advocacy
-
Supporting orientation logistics and promoting an inclusive campus community
Qualifications:
-
Minimum 2.5 GPA
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Empathy, professionalism, and a desire to support new students
Time Commitment & Compensation:
-
Summer orientation and preparation
-
3–6 hours/week during fall semester, including a 1-credit leadership course
-
